MPGE Scholarships

Substantial scholarship support is available through the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering to undergraduate petroleum engineering students. This is possible through the generous support of alumni, friends and corporate sponsors. Most of the MPGE awards are in addition to general university scholarships

The Mewbourne Distinguished Scholars program is available to both incoming freshman and upperclass students who qualify. This scholarship is renewable by application for up to five years as long as the student makes satisfactory progress and meets the 3.0 GPA criteria. Amounts vary.

The Mewbourne Leadership Scholars Program is the school's premiere scholarship award. It is an annual renewable scholarship of $4,000 a year for up to five years. This scholarship seeks to reward outstanding student leaders. Top incoming freshmen are encouraged to apply. In addition, Mewbourne Leadership Scholars receive recognition and regular interaction with industry leaders, other Mewbourne Leadership Scholars and professional engineers engaged in various aspects of the energy industry.

On average, the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering awards close to $200,000 in scholarships per year and serves more than 100 undergraduate students.
